Department of History
The department was established in June 1970 .The department has been effectively implementing the syllabus designed by Dr. B.A.M.U. In addition to the teaching activities, the department strives to commemorate & celebrate various important historical occasions such as Marathwada Mukti Sangram Din (17 Sep), Shivjayanti (19 Feb) every year. Key activities organized by the department every year includes - Memorable lectures & sessions by historians, study tours to historical places, quiz competitions and exhibition of coins. Further, to enhance interest in the subject, the department facilitates certificate courses such as modi lipi reading and writing.
It has also successfully rendered the Travel and Tourism course to guide students on the importance of tourism, historical places and provides career opportunities in this field. Under the joint initiative by Dr. B.A.M.U Student Welfare Department (university grants) and Department of History, Mahatma Gandhi lecture series and Swami Ramanand lecture series were organized & received overwhelming response from the students & the faculty. Additionally, in collaboration with Student Welfare Department (Dr. B.A.M.U) & faculty members, the department also organized inter collegiate elocution competition. In conclusion, through all these initiatives the department is committed to inculcate moral values & ethics among the students.
